Rep. Aminu Balele representing Kurfi/Dutsinma Federal Constituency in Katsina State has sponsored the training of about 300 youths on digital skills.
The programme themed “Digital Creators, Future Leaders: Empowering Youth to Shape a Positive Online World,” was launched on Wednesday in Kurfi.
The intensive training is being conducted by the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) in collaboration with Salhanny International Ltd. and Atar Communications Ltd.
Speaking at the opening session, Malam Balarabe Muhammad-Bello, Group General Manager of Atar Communications, explained that the training will run from Aug. 20 -24.
He said that the initiative was timely, given the rising importance of social and electronic media in shaping public opinion and creating opportunities for young people.
Muhammad-Bello added that the programme, comprising male and female beneficiaries, engaged renowned media experts and academicians as facilitators.
Prof. Yahuza Sulaiman-Imam, the Registrar of NBAIS, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for sponsoring the training for the teaming youths from his constituency.
Sulaiman-Imam, represented by Malam Muhammad Kabir-Adamu, the Head of Training and Development Unit at NBAIS, reminded the participants of the examination being organised by their board.
He said NBAIS certificates are recognised nationwide and those who want to earn it must work hard.
The registrar also urged the beneficiaries that after the training, they should also pass down the knowledge to other youths in their communities, thereby multiplying the impact of the project across the constituency.
