Kano NDLEA PRO bags Marwa’s commendation for outstanding service

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Strategic Command, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics (ASN) Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, has received the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer’s Commendation Award for outstanding performance.

The award, presented on Wednesday in Kano by the Zonal Commander of Zone 5, Deputy Commander General of Narcotics (DCGN) Maryam Gambo Sani, was on behalf of the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), CON, OFR.

According to the NDLEA, the honour was in recognition of Maigatari’s exceptional contributions to public outreach, transparency, and dedication to duty in promoting the agency’s mission.

While presenting the commendation, DCGN Sani described Maigatari as “a dedicated officer bridging the gap between the NDLEA and the public.”

The NDLEA PRO has been credited with strengthening the command’s public information efforts through timely media briefings, awareness campaigns and proactive engagement with communities and stakeholders.

The Commander of the Kano State Strategic Command, Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN) A. I. Ahmad, said the recognition was well deserved.

“ASN Maigatari’s professionalism and commitment have significantly improved our visibility and strengthened public trust. His work exemplifies the values and mission of the NDLEA,” Ahmad stated.

The Chairman’s commendation was also extended to six other officers of the Kano Command for professionalism, dedication, and meaningful contributions to NDLEA operations.

Reacting, Maigatari expressed gratitude to the NDLEA Chairman for the recognition.

“I am deeply honoured and grateful to Brig.-Gen. Marwa for this commendation. This recognition strengthens my resolve to redouble efforts in strengthening public engagement, promoting transparency, and advancing the NDLEA’s mission,” he said.
