BUK VC charges athletes to be good ambassadors at NUGA games

The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano BUK, Professor Haruna Musa has charged his athletes representing the institution in this year’s Nigerian University Games Association NUGA games to be good ambassadors through out the championship.

Professor Haruna Musa who described sports as a key factors that cementing the cordial relationship among various ethics groups as well as unity and peace.

The Vice Chancellor who spokes through the university’s director of sports, Professor Rabiu Muhammad popularly known as Chanhu said that the university has been doing it’s best to take care of the athletes’ welfare aimed at motivating and encouraging them to excel at various national and international sporting activities.

”Sports is not a do or die affairs, participating in competitions bring joy and happiness as well as unity, peace and love among the athletes,” he explained .

Professor Haruna Musa said that over 150 make and female athletes, coaches and officials have already arrived the venue of the games, the university of Jos safely last Thursday ahead of the championship.

He added that the institution is expected to compete in 13 games such football, chess, Judo, toekwondo, tennis, basketball, hockey, badminton, athletic among others.

The Vice Chancellor assured that with the recent performance of the athletes in the NUGA preliminary stage held at Ali Dangote University Science and Technology ADUST’, Wudil, the BUK contingent will make an impact during the NUGa proper in Jos, the plateau state capital billed commence from November 8th to 17th, 2025.
