Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has been urged to establish the office of the special Adviser on widows and orphans aimed at ensuring proper records and taking care of welfare.
This call was made by the chairman of Maidile Widows and Orphans Welfare Association in Kumbotso local government area of Kano stateMalam Usman Dalhatu while distributing foodstuffs and Sallah sewing materials to orphans and widows held in the state capital.
Dalhatu said that established the office of the Special Adviser will go along way in improving and coordinating the welfare of orphans and widows in the state.
He described Yusuf as walkaholic Governor who always put Kano first behind anything, calling on the people in the state to continue to support him in order to achieve the desired objectives.
The chairman however, commended all those who contributing in one way or the other towards the success of the programme in the area.
Over 150 widows and orphans benefitted from the Sallah sewing materials for children and foodstuffs to the widows.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the occasion thanked the association members and donors, prayed to God to reward them abundantly.
Highlights of the event include the distributions foodstuffs and Sallah sewing materials to the orphans and widows at the occasion.
