
Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has launched the distribution of 100,000 bags of rice donated by Aliko Dangote Foundation to support vulnerable residents of the state.
The gesture complements the state government’s humanitarian efforts.

Yusuf, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the generous donation, describing it as timely and impactful.
He noted that the gesture would significantly complement the state government’s humanitarian efforts aimed at improving the living condition of the less privileged.
While assuring that many people had benefitted from the gesture especially the vulnerable people, the governor stressed the importance of extending helping hands to the needy at the sacred month of Ramadan.
Yusuf assured transparency and accountability in the distribution process through relevant community structure and stakeholders to ensure that the items were safely delivered to intended beneficiaries.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr Danjuma Mahmud, commended the Dangote Foundation for the confidence it reposed on Gov. Yusuf by granting the state government the opportunity to directly oversee the distribution exercise.
