The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State chapter, has honoured the State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), ACGN AI Ahmad, for his outstanding leadership in combating substance abuse and illicit trafficking.
This is contained in a statement by the NDLEA Public Relations Officer, Kano State Strategic Command, ASP Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, on Sunday in Kano.
The award was presented to Ahmad on by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of ACF Kano, Gen. Halliru Akilu (rtd), during the Annual General Meeting and Inauguration of new executives attended by top ACF officials and community leaders.
Prominent among those in attendance were the National Chairman, Board of Trustees, Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Dalhatu (Wazirin Dutse), the Forum’s Secretary, Alhaji Murtala Aliyu (Matawallen Gombe), Kano State ACF Chairman, Dr. Goni Farouk Umar, and Malam Bukar Zarma, Secretary of the Forum’s Selection Committee.
The forum said the recognition was in appreciation of Ahmad’s decisive actions to tackle the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, which it noted had improved public safety, youth protection and the wellbeing of Kano residents.
According to the Forum, the commander’s “unwavering commitment” to sanitising communities through enforcement and advocacy has strengthened the fight against drug-related crimes in the state.
