The Bauchi State Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, Musa Adamu One, has urged the contractor handling the construction of a veterinary clinic and laboratory to strictly comply with World Bank standards to ensure the objectives of the project are achieved.
This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the CICT Officer, Mohammed Abdul (Dan Masanin Ari).
Adamu One, who paid an unscheduled visit to the construction site, expressed confidence that the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) evaluators selected a competent contractor for the work.
He noted, during the visit with some PIU members, that work was progressing as agreed during the contract award ceremony held at the L-PRES conference room, a gathering that was attended by staff and media personnel.
The statement recalled that the bid opening was witnessed by the Commissioner for Livestock Development, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi, who urged all bidders to accept the outcome in good faith.
It said the project in Bauchi State includes the renovation and construction of 15 slaughterhouses across the state.
Adamu One assured the contractor of the World Bank’s unwavering commitment for o the prompt release of funds to ensure quality and timely completion of the project.
According to the statement, some PIU members on the visit expressed satisfaction with the level and standard of work at the sites inspected.
It added that stakeholders and residents at the various sites visited commended the Bauchi State Government, the National L-PRES Office, and the World Bank for initiating the project in the state and country at large.
The statement also said cluster chairmen of various value chains joined the SPC and his team during the impromptu inspection visits.
