With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, I mourn the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who departed this life today at approximately 4:30 pm in London.
President Buhari was a symbol of integrity, discipline, and unwavering courage. As a soldier, statesman, and patriot, he dedicated his life to serving Nigeria with humility and faith in God.
He stood firm, guided by conviction and principle, leaving a lasting impact on Nigeria’s political and ethical landscape. His leadership was marked by sacrifice, simplicity, and moral clarity.
We take solace in knowing he was a devout man of faith who carried the burdens of leadership with spiritual reflection.
As the Quran says, “To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return” (2:156). May Almighty God forgive his shortcomings, accept his return, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. May his legacy inspire future generations.
Nigeria has lost a father, Africa a voice of reason, but we have gained an enduring example of a man who lived with purpose. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
