Dangote University ready for NUGA Games

Over 50 athletes of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST) are to compete in the forthcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) scheduled to hold at Jos University, Plateau state.

The ADUST’s Director of Sports Sbdulsalam Abubakar Shandy stated this during an interface with newsmen on their preparations ahead of the games.

Abdulsalam Abubakar Shandy explained that the athletes have been receiving vigorous training in order to make an impact during the games.

He explained that the ADUST will compete in Football, Athletics, Taekwondo, Judo, Tennis and Table Tennis,, Badminton and Volleyball.

While commending the management of the university led by Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai for his unwavering support morally and financially, he pledged that the sports directorate will do everything possible to ensure the success of the university.

The Director charged the athletes to display exceptional sportsmanship in order to project the good image of the institution.

Abdulsalam Abubakar Shandy who described the recent performance of the university athletes in the recent NUGA preliminaries in Wudil where they compete alongside Federal University of Dutse, Northwest university, Jigawa state university, Kafin Hausa and Bayero University Kano BUK.

Over 80 universities across the country are expected to compete this year’s Nigerian University Games Association NUGA scheduled to commence from November 5th to 16th, 2025 in Jos.
