NSCDC partners Kano stakeholders to strengthen peaceful coexistence

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it will partner with relevant stakeholders to promote peace and security in Kano State.

The Commandant, Bala Bawa-Bodinga, said this in a statement by the spokesman of the corps, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, on Monday in Kano.Bawa-Bodinga spoke at an event to mark the 2025 International Day of Peace, themed: “Act Now for a Peaceful World.”

He reiterated commitment to safeguard critical national assets, protect lives and property as well as support internal security efforts.“The NSCDC in Kano State will continue to demonstrate professionalism, patriotism and commitment to build a safe society.

“Peace cannot be achieve by security agencies alone, it requires the active participation of every citizen,” he said.
He urged residents of the state to embrace dialogue, shun violence and crimes, and promote values that unite rather than divide the people.

According to Bawa-Bodinga, forces that threaten peaceful coexistence can be defeated through collective efforts.

The event featured paper presentation on peaceful coexistence by Garba Suleiman-Marafa, National President, Wazobia Conflict Resolution and Peace Advocacy Initiative.

Also, Mubarak M. Bello of the NSCDC Peace and Conflict Resolution Unit, presented a paper on conflict escalation.

The event was attended by the personnel of the corps, civil society organisations and community leaders.
