Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has inaugurated the Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the inauguration on Thursday in Kano, the governor vowed that APC candidates in the state would focus on the issue-based campaign.
He urged the contestants should focus on the projects executed for the benefit of the people and the plans ahead, instead of insults and personal attacks.
Yusuf described the campaign council as foot soldiers that would ensure the victory of the duo, and all other candidates from top to bottom.
The governor said the persons whose names made it to the list of the campaign council were selected based on merit and their capacity to mobilise the people to vote for Tinubu, the governor and other candidates.
He charged them to work day-and-night to ensure victory of the party in the forthcoming elections.
Responding, the Director-General of the campaign council, Abdullahi Tijjani-Gwarzo, who spoke on behalf of other members, pledged to work assiduously to deliver victory for Tinubu, Gov. Yusuf and all candidates of APC in the election.
He solicited the support of all members irrespective of their status to ensure the party emerges victorious during the elections.
Tijjani-Gwarzo said they would also seek divine intervention, and go round the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure massive votes for all APC candidates.
Earlier, the State party Chairman, Haruna Doguwa, said the state was among the first in the North to put inaugurate campaign council.
Members of the council included Abdullahi Abbas, Yusuf Abdullahi-Atah Abdulsalam Abdulkarim (A.A Zaura), Sen. Baraka S. Sani, Maryam Shanty, Ibrahim Waiya, Abdullahi Mahmud-Gaya and Sanusi Bature, among others.
