The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has decorated 29 newly promoted officers in recognition of their dedication and exemplary service to the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking during the ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Kano, Bakori said the promotion was a reward for hard work, discipline, and professionalism.
He said the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC) following the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
Bakori commended the IGP for his “visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare and career advancement of police personnel across the country.”
The commissioner also appreciated the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Kano, for his “guidance, mentorship, and continuous support to the Command,” adding that such leadership had strengthened operational efficiency in the state.
Giving a breakdown of the promotion, Bakori said two officers were elevated from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 21 from Superintendent of Police (SP) to CSP, while six officers were promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to SP.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, urging them to uphold the core values of integrity, discipline, and service.
“As you adorn your new ranks, I urge you to rededicate yourselves to the noble ideals that define our profession. The challenges facing our nation today require innovative thinking, unwavering commitment, and teamwork,” he said.
Bakori also enjoined the officers to demonstrate exemplary leadership and inspire their subordinates through professionalism and dedication to duty.
He thanked all who contributed to the success of the event and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Kano State.
He said: “The Command, and indeed the entire nation, is proud of you. Together, let us continue to work towards a safer and more secure Kano State and Nigeria at large.”
