The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has launched an investigation into the death of one of its volunteer supporting staff, Buhari Haruna, in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Kano by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi.
According to him, the command commiserates with the family, relatives and residents of Tudun Wada Local Government Area over the death of Haruna, who served as a supporting (volunteer) staff member at the NSCDC Tudun Wada Divisional Office.
He said the incident occurred during the distribution of palliative items in Tudun Wada town.
“The death is a great loss not only to the deceased family but also to the corps and the good people of the area,” he said.
Idris-Abdullahi said that, following a directive from the State Commandant, the corps had commenced a thorough investigation to determine the actual cause of Haruna’s death and ensure justice is served.
He appealed to residents to remain calm while the investigation continues and also prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
