Major General Sunday Igbinomwanhia has pledged to engage teeming youths in various sporting activities aimed at distancing them from anti social vices in the country.
He made the pledge during the final soccer competition between Zakirai Striker football team and Jogana Attackers organised under his foundation at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.
The General who has supporting the championship for over one decade in Kano as part of his contributions to support and promoting the game at grassroots level.

Major General Sunday Igbinomwanhia who described sports as a key factors that unite various ethnic groups and contributed in projecting the image of the state and the country at large.
He pledged to extend the sponsorship to other events such as basketball, handball and others in primary and secondary schools with a view to actualize the set objectives.
The General then directed the foundation chairman, Alhaji Isa Abdullahi Dazino to immediately commence preparations ahead of primary and secondary schools tournaments.
He commended his senior officers and other stakeholders for their support and cooperations, assuring that he will continue to offer his assistant and contributions to the development of youths across country.

Earlier, the chairman of Major General Sunday Igbinomwanhia foundation, Alhaji Isa Abdullahi Dazino expressed gratitude to the General and other stakeholders for their unflinching support and cooperation towards the success of the tournament.
Dazino who was former national team player called on the youth to utilize the championship as a ladder for their greener pasture, assuring that his committee will continue to do their best towards the overall development of various sporting activities in the state and the country in general.
In the final match, Zakirai Striker football team beat it’s Jogana Attackers by 2-0 to lift the trophy and carted away home with N300, 000, the runner up went home with N200,000 and medal while third place Police Machine got N150,000 as prizes.
