The Nigerian Forest and Security Service (NFSS), Kano State Command, has said that it received 59 complaints in February.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Usman Umar, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kano.
Umar said that the command was committed to its mandate of preventing and detecting illegal activities in the forests.
“Of the 59 complainants, 40 have been treated while 19 are pending.
“Most of the cases are on animal theft, phone theft, kidnapping, thuggery, motorcycle theft and land dispute.
“We will continue to secure our forests ,’’ he said.
He urged members the public to cooperate with NFSS and be law-abiding.
