The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has inaugurated a new operational outpost in Yelwa Quarters, Dala Local Government Area of the state to enhance effective policing and security.
This is contained in a statement by the NSCDC State Commandant, Mr Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, through the Command’s Spokesman SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi on Thursday in Kano.
According to Hassan-Agalama, the new facility is established to bring security services closer to residents and improve response to emerging security challenges in the area.
He described the outpost as a strategic step to help strengthen the corps’ operational presence and promote effective policing within the community.
He stressed the need for community participation and collaboration among security agencies to address insecurity, urging residents to provide timely and credible information to help support crime prevention efforts.
The commandant also commended Dala Local Government Council and the people of Yelwa for their support, saying that “security is a collective responsibility which requires the commitment of government, security agencies, traditional institutions and members of the public.”
He added that the new outpost reflected the agency’s commitment to expand operational coverage, strengthen collaboration with sister security agencies and communities to ensure a more secured Kano state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Dala Local Government, Suraj Imam, pledged that the council would continue to support NSCDC and other security agencies operating in the area.
Imam said the council would also assist security agencies in addressing security challenges and ensure the safety of residents.
He described the inauguration of the outpost as a significant development that would strengthen security operations and boost public confidence.(NAN)
