Students of the Taraba state Polytechnic Suntai on Sunday lamented that the institution is currently facing a significant deficit of lecturers.
A student in the Department of Epidemiology, Bulus Ubandama while speaking to Blueprint during an exclusive interview said the lectures in the institution are not enough as it is to take available courses in the school.
“Most time, a lecturer takes more than three to four courses and is affecting us, we will sometimes be in a lecture room waiting and we will later be told that the lecturers is taking other students elsewhere.
It is not going well with us, it is really affecting our studies, and something urgent need to be quickly done” he said.
Also, a HND one student of the polytechnic, Zainab Usma Gorobi said governor Kefas need to urgently give approval for recruitment of teachers in the school.
She warned that if nothing is done to curb the significant deficit of lecturers, the institution will wake up one without single teacher to teach students.
“I want to bring to the notice of our governor that the polytechnic runs HND now, and it will not go well with the institution if NBTE got to now that the school is lacking teachers.
He should urgently direct the governing council and the polytechnic authority to immediately commence recruitment of lecturers and others.
If governor Kefas and his administration hears us, it will give us joy and solve the problem of lack of lecturers we are currently facing” she noted.
