YALI Network Kano Distributes Relief Items to Flood Victims in Maiduguri

The YALI Network Kano State Hub distributed essential items to flood-affected residents in the Gambaru area of Maiduguri, providing relief to women, youths, and adults in the community.

The effort, coordinated by Barnabas Adesina and Barrister Abba Shuibu Gidan Wankey, involved collecting, sorting, and delivering over 2,000 items, including clothes, shoes, mosquito nets, caps, and sanitary pads.

Speaking during the distribution, Barnabas Adesina said, “This effort is a show of concern and solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the flood-affected community of Borno.”

Ibrahim Aliyu Izege, representing the YALI Borno State coordinator, acknowledged the support, stating, “This gesture exemplifies youth leadership and collaboration in community engagement. The support is timely, especially as we approach the cold season when vulnerable groups like women and children need it most.”

Ali Yerima, Chairman of the Gambaru Community Development Association, expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank YALI for their support. May Allah reward them abundantly for their kindness in bringing hope and relief to our community.”

The intervention demonstrates the role of youth-led initiatives in addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable communities.
