FRSC launches “Operation Guduma’ to tackle traffic violations in Kano



The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, has evolved  a special patrol operation, tagged “Operation Guduma” to strengthen enforcement against traffic offences in the state.

Inaugurating the scheme on Monday in Kano, Yusuf Aliyu-Haruna, who is  in charge of Federal Operations at FRSC Headquarters, urged personnel to remain disciplined, professional, and be committed in the discharge of their duties.

He directed personnel deployed to the Gadar Lado axis, along the Kano–Zaria Road to  ensure compliance and assess the operational effectiveness of the exercise.

The operation targets offences such as “the use of fake diplomatic number plates, and overloading.

Others are mix-loading of goods and passengers, and the movement of vehicles carrying unlatched containers that could cause crashes or obstruct highways”.

Aliyu-Haruna, also urged motorists and transport operators to obey traffic regulations and avoid dangerous practices that endanger lives and property.

The Kano Sector Commander, Idris Mohammed, urged motorists plying the highways to drive  responsibly.
