The centre of the ongoing Nigerian Premier league basketball second phase received commendation for provided facilities and support to the participating teams.
The tournament, organized by the Nigerian Basketball Federation NBBF under the leadership of Alhaji Musa Kida was part of process to produce the best top four teams ahead of the final 8 scheduled to hold later in the year.
Speaking shortly after Kano Pillars basketball team defeated Bauchi Nets 97-82 points, the team’s Secretary Bashir Musa described the centre as peaceful despite the insinuation of insecurity in the area.
”Since arrived Minna from Kano, we enjoyed the conducive atmosphere, the facilities and security arrangements was superb,” he explained.
Bashir Musa however, applauded the NBBF President, Musa Kida for his commitment to ensure both Savannah and Atlantic Conferences centres in Minna, the capital city Niger and Enugu were well organized.
He called on the basketball stakeholders to continue to support the NBBF towards the overall development of the game in the country and Africa in general.
The team’s that taking part in the second phase of competition in Minna include Kano Pillars basketball team, Plateau Peaks of Jos, Bauchi Nets, Gombe Bull, Aso Sky Hawks, City Chiefs of Abuja, Nile University, 313 Warriors and the host team, Niger Potters of Minna.
