Gov.Yusuf congratulates Badejo-Okusanya, first elected female NBA president 

Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has congratulated Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her election as the first elected female President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The governor, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature on Wednesday in Kano, described her emergence as a historic milestone for the legal profession and the country.

Kabir-Yusuf said Badejo-Okusanya’s election reflected her integrity, professionalism and commitment to the rule of law, which earned her the confidence of members of the Bar nationwide.

He said her election also underscores the growing recognition of the vital role women continue to play in nation-building and the administration of justice.

The governor expressed confidence that the new NBA president would provide purposeful leadership, strengthen the legal profession, uphold the rule of law and champion reforms to improve access to justice for all Nigerians.

He urged Badejo-Okusanya to work closely with members of the association and other stakeholders to advance judicial reforms, promote unity within the Bar and protect the sanctity of the Constitution.

Kabir-Yusuf also called on her to foster reconciliation among all contestants and members of the association in the interest of a stronger and more united NBA.

He wished the new NBA president a successful tenure and reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote justice, democratic governance and the rule of law.

The governor also congratulated Barr. Hadija Nasir-Ahmed on her election as the Assistant National Publicity Secretary of the NBA from Kano.
