
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Wednesday received multiple awards and honours in recognition of his visionary leadership and his administration’s achievements in advancing the socio-economic development of Kano State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday.
The awards were presented during the 40th Kano State Executive Council Meeting held at the Council Chamber, Government House, Kano.
Among the honours conferred on the Governor was an Award of Excellence from the Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP).
He also received the Award of Excellence in Enhancing the Quality of Life of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder from the Sickle Cell Foundation of Nigeria, as well as recognitions from the Kano State Dental Workers Union (KASDWU) and the National Health Fellows (Cohort 1.0).
Other honours came from the Kano State Pilots Association, the ASCON Class of 2026, the Kano State Lecturers’ Forum, the National Leather and Products Association of Nigeria (NALPAN), the Computer Society of Nigeria, and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), which conferred an Honorary Fellowship on the Governor.
Additional recognitions were presented by the National Sustainability Achievers, the Northern Youth Council, Kano Online Media, and the Forum of Kano DPEs and PROs, among others.
The Governor also received a copy of the book, Against All Odds, published in honour of the Governor of Lagos State.
Speaking after receiving the awards, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the organisations and professional bodies for recognising the efforts of his administration.
He described the honours as a reflection of the collective commitment of his team to delivering purposeful leadership and people-centred governance.
The Governor said the recognitions would further motivate his administration to remain steadfast in implementing policies and programmes that promote good governance, improve public service delivery, and accelerate the socio-economic development of Kano State.
