
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has made new appointments to strengthen his administration’s governance and development efforts.
Hajia Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, and Ibrahim Jibrin Fagge, former Commissioner for Finance, who were relieved of their positions in December last year, are among the appointees.
Ladidi Garko is now the Chairman of the Kano State Civil Service Commission, while Jibrin Fagge will chair the Local Government Service Commission.
“These appointments underscore Governor Yusuf’s resolve to prioritize expertise and experience in governance,” the statement read.
Other appointees include Hon. Ahmad Muhammad Speaker as Special Adviser on Publicity, Engr. Ahmad as Special Adviser on Works, and Malam Sani Abdullahi Tofa as Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties.
The swearing-in ceremony for the appointees is set for Monday, 6th January 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Ante-Chamber of the Kano Government House.
The event will also include the inauguration of seven commissioner nominees recently screened by the Kano State House of Assembly and other Special Advisers.
