The Directorate of Security’s table tennis team has emerged as the winner of the event after defeating its Registry counterpart 2-0.
The competition was part of the ongoing Northwest University Kano inter directorate staff Games held at the institution’s premises.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muktar Atiku Kurawa, described the games as a way of improving staff fitness and health,aimed at ensuring productivity and efficiency in discharging their responsibility.
Professor Kurawa pledged that the university management would continue to support and encourage the Sports directorate towards the overall development of various sporting activities in the university.
In the table tennis final, the Security Directorate won gold, while the Registry took second place with a silver medal.
In his remarks, the university’s spokesperson, Mallam Abubakar Ibrahim, congratulated the winners and charged the loosing teams to redouble their efforts in future championships.

Meanwhile, Munir Balarabe, while presenting the medals to the winners, commended the Sports Directorate under the leadership of Ahmad Surajo for its commitment and dedication to the development of various sporting events in the university.
Commenting on the competition, the Chief Coach of Table Tennis, Abubakar Makwarari, expressed appreciation to the Director of Sports for his wisdom and dedication in initiating such competitions.
He also expressed gratitude to the participants for their commitment and sportsmanship exhibited throughout the event.
Meanwhile, Faculty of Science defeated the University’s Internal Audit 3-0 straight to emerge 3rd Position with a bronze medal.
