The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kano State Command has urged Private Guard Companies (PGCs) in the state to embrace continuous capacity-building initiatives to enhance professionalism and improve service delivery.
The State Commandant of the corps, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, made the call while addressing operatives of private guard companies at the closing ceremony of a training program.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Kano by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi.
The commandant stressed the importance of regular training in strengthening the operational efficiency of security personnel.
Hassan-Agalama said the programme was designed to sharpen the knowledge and skills of participants, making them mentally alert, proactive and more responsive to the demands of their duties.
According to him, well-trained operatives contribute significantly to effective security management and improve the reputation and business prospects of their companies through discipline and enhanced performance.
The commandant commended the participants for their commitment throughout the training and assured that the command would continue to provide support and supervision aimed at improving standards within the private security sector in Kano State.
The statement said more than 110 operatives drawn from 12 private guard companies participated in the exercise.
“Certificates of attendance were presented to participants after the training, which featured parade drills and lectures.
The training was organised by the NSCDC Department of Private Guard Companies in collaboration with the Kano State chapter of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN).
