By Andrew Ojih,  Jalingo.

Taraba state governor,  Agbu Kefas on Friday said his administration will continue to protect lives, property, and promote the welfare of all citizens of the state.

Kefes who stated this during his three years public address to the people of state promised to uphold fairness, justice, and accountability in governance.

He explained that when his administration came into office in 2023, he inherited serious challenges across many sectors.

“When we assumed office in 2023,   we met infrastructure deficits,  gaps in education and healthcare, security was affecting many communities, economic difficulties wss having negative impact on families and young people  were daunting” he said.

He highlighted that one of the earliest decisions he took  was the declaration of a state of emergency in education.

He informed that he  took deliberate steps to expand access to free and compulsory basic education, improve learning environments, support teachers and educational institutions and restore confidence in the future of Taraba children

“We strongly believe that education remains the greatest investment any government can make for sustainable development.

Beyond basic education, our administration has also continued to reposition tertiary institutions across the State.

We inherited institutions burdened by infrastructural deficits, administrative challenges, and persistent industrial disputes, particularly at Taraba State University” he noted.

He said Taraba state remains blessed with enormous agricultural potential and  for over the past three years, government has continued to support farmers, encourage agricultural expansion, and position Taraba as a major contributor to food security in Nigeria.

“We are also taking deliberate steps to improve livestock development, reduce conflicts associated with farming activities, and create better economic opportunities for citizens” he stressed.
