The Council Chairman of Lau Local Government Area of Taraba state, Hon Nigeria Jatau on Wednesday denied allegation of selling the government multimillion naira tomatoe industry located in Lau LGA of Taraba state to one Alhaji Kabir Umar.
Jatau who stated this while reacting to the allegation told journalists in Jalingo that the tomatoe industry was sold since 2018.
“I was seated one day, Taraba state ministry of justice sent me a letter of court judgment from the appeal court in Yola directing me to comply to allow Kebir Umar evacuate scraps irons which he acquired by a way of purchase in an auction sale.
This auctioning of scraps irons were done in 2018 which I was not even the chairman of the local government as at that time.
I only obeyed the directive of the state ministry of justice that directed me to allow Kebir Umar to evaluate his craps irons which he claimed he acquired them through auctioning” he noted.
He noted that those spreading false allegation against him are his political enemies who do not wish the local government well.
“Since two years, nobody has accused me of selling government properties, it is now that we are warming up for screening that they begin to spread fake allegations against me.
He hinted that those spreading false allegations recently accused him of selling lands to criminals in lau local government.
“What I know is that whatever you do to someone either good or bad, someone else would do same to you one day.
I have left those accusing me wrongly to examine their conscience and allow us to contribute our quater to Governor Kefas development mantra” he added.
