The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 3,250 operatives across the state to ensure adequate security during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Kano.
He said the deployment was aimed at ensuring peaceful celebrations during and after the festive period.
Hassan-Agalama said special security attention would be given to Eid grounds, recreational centres and other public places expected to witness large gatherings during the celebrations.
According to him, security would also be strengthened around critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.
He added that the Corps’ Rapid Response Squad (RRS) had been directed to intensify surveillance and patrol operations, as well as respond promptly to emergencies when necessary.
The commandant said the corps would work in synergy and collaboration with other security agencies to maintain law and order throughout the period.
He warned thugs and other criminal elements to desist from acts capable of disrupting public peace, stressing that the corps would not tolerate any breach of security.
“The corps is fully prepared to deal with miscreants and enemies of peace in accordance with the law,” he said.
Hassan-Agalama felicitated with residents of the state and wished them a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
