Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has handed over 10 CNG Buses to the Nigeria Labour Congress Kano State Chapter donated by the Federal Government.
The Governor Presented the New Branded CNG Buses to the president of the NLC Mr Joe Ajero at the NLC secretariat Kano.
He said the Buses were donated by the federal government under the able leadership of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu ,with a view to cushion the effects of Fuel Subsidy removals.
Kabir-Yusuf applauded the commitment of the Nigeria Labour Congress for their tireless efforts to enhance the well being of Nigerian workers and by extension the General populace.
He noted that his administration is workers friendly,stressing that Kano State has already approved and implemented the new minimum wage ,geared towards uplifting the welfare of workers .
” We’ve settled huge backloads of retirees , through payment of gratuities and pensions with a view to make sure that the efforts of workers who serve the state was not left in vein”
He Urged workers in the state to reciprocate the gesture by been committed and dedicated with a view to achieved the stated objectives.
On his part, the NLC President, Mr Joe Ajero, said they were in Kano to attend a crucial meeting with members of the union,geared towards moving the union forward.
He said the launching of the 10 New CNG Buses in Kano was a welcome development.
” These 10 CNG Buses wold help immensely in reducing the cost of transportation among workers and the general populace”
Ajero applauded Kano State Government for prompt payment of salaries of workers and for approving and implementation of the new minimum wage.
