Kano gets new FRSC sector commander

A new Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Sector Commander, Kano State Command, Mr Umar Matazu, has assumed duty in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued in Kano on Tuesday,by the FRSC Spokesman Kano Command, Abdullahi Labaran.

He said the new sector Commander replaced the erstwhile Sector Commander, Ahmed Tijjani Mohammed, who was elevated to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM).

The statement quote the sector commander as saying “that he will continue the good work of his predecessor and enhance efforts toward ensuring road awareness campaigns to record a better safer motoring environment in Kano State.

He emphasize the critical importance of collaboration and partnership with all relevant stakeholders, including the government, traditional institutions, transport unions, and the motoring public. 

Mutazu appealed to the good people of the State for their unwavering support in the quest to achieve FRSC’s Corporate Strategic Goal 1 for 2024, which is to realize a 5% reduction in road traffic deaths and injuries.

He assured the public that they will remain committed to promote road safety through strategic interventions,  sensitization, and enhanced operational efficiency.

Matazu extended his appreciation to his predecessor, ACM Ahmed Tijjani Mohammed, for the remarkable leadership and legacy he left behind, particularly in fostering stakeholder collaboration and operational achievements. 

He aslo assured the people of Kano State that these gains would be consolidated and built upon for the greater good of all.

“The FRSC Kano State Command remains dedicated to making the roads safer for all users and urges the public to always adhere to traffic rules and regulations for their safety and that of others”,he said.
