The Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, has pledged full support to the new State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Owuna Hassan.
The assurance was given by Governor Mai Mala Buni on Thursday through his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, during the presentation of the letter of credence to the deputy governor by the commandant at the government house, Damaturu.
The deputy governor welcomed the new commandant and reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing the enabling environment for the civil defence corps and other security agencies to operate effectively.
He said the administration of Governor Buni prioritises security and public safety noting that NSCDC plays crucial role in protecting public facilities, and that government would give them absolute support to discharge their duties diligently.
Earlier in his remarks, the new commandant expressed his unwavering commitment to carrying out the mandate of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Yobe State passionately.
He pledged to work in close collaboration with the government and other security agencies to enhance the protection of lives, property and critical national assets across the state.
The presentation of the letter of credence formally marked Commandant Hassan’s assumption of duty as the substantive State Commandant of NSCDC, Yobe State Command.
